I lost my shadow

For the last 9 years Lola was my shadow, whether it was supervising my paintings, laying on the bath mat while I showered, or going on adventures in the mountains. I adopted her when she was 18 months old when her former parents were moving to a part of Florida where she was a restricted breed. From that day forward my life was changed so, so, much for the better. Growing up around English Springer Spaniels, the occasional Labrador, or random strays that became part of the family but never a Bull Terrier. I didn’t really know what I was getting into but almost immediate fell in love with her and the breed. Never have I had such a loyal, goofy, stubborn dog who followed me everywhere. I literally can’t count how many times we were out on walkies and someone would scream “Spuds Mackenzie!” or “ I love your dog!” or “Hey, Chico!” While driving by or just stop to tell us the story about the bull terrier they once had. She brought so much happiness to everyone she met, and when the occasional drunk or crazy person in Capitol Hill got a little to close - backed them OFF!! Even though the house feels so much quieter I will be forever grateful for the adventures we went on and the memories we made.
